Intelligent Resources International (IRI) Ltd officially launched new software Resource Tracking Information System (RTIS) on the 27th of April, 2024 at Sheraton Dhaka. RTIS is a cloud-based secured & API-driven Resource Tracking System with an operational dashboard. The software is designed to meticulously monitor resource utilization throughout the production process.

In a slide show presentation Mr Hakim showed that RTIS is a cloud-based secured database, remotely accessible from any platform, customizable report and data download for HIGG input, accurate & verifiable information, interactive data visualization, performance tracking and resource monitoring, fully automated on-time data analysis, modular and API driven architecture.
This can track and visualize total footprint and KPI, track department-wise footprint and KPI , data export, ability to input past year data, online training, 24×7 technical support, in-person training, compare monthly/ quarterly/ yearly KPI, intuitive dashboard, project management, track maintenance schedule and implementation plan, connect with consultant, chemical management module, waste management module, ability to track buyer (brands) footprint and KPI, ability to drill down to style/order-wise footprint and KPI.
RTIS platform also works as transformative capabilities in real time data tracking and can revolutionize environmental management in the garment industry by offering insights into department and order-wise footprint monitoring as well as project tracking.
He informed this is a visual representation or dashboard that provides quick and concise information about the performance of specific metrics to identify commonly used KPIs and performance standards within RMG sector as well as to get compliant and stay compliant with relevant regulations to ensure legal and ethical operations, protect sensitive information, and maintain trust with customers and stakeholders.
He said “The software has ability to access and retrieve data quickly and easily whenever needed. It implies having efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis capabilities to make informed decisions and take necessary actions promptly.”

Ms. Felicity Tapsell, Head of Responsible Sourcing at BESTSELLER, emphasized their commitment to sustainability through its Fashion Forward Sustainability Strategy, in collaboration with tools like RTIS and environmental consulting partners such as Engineering Resources International (ERI), how it is helping them achieve long term sustainability goals. President of MCCI, Mr. Kamran Rahman, highlighted the enduring importance of wisdom and innovation in today’s digital era while acknowledging the pivotal role of organizations like IRI in facilitating global compliance. Mr. Rahman envisions a Bangladesh blending tradition with tech, empowering youth, promoting ethics, and fostering prosperity.
Mr. Ashraf Ahmad, President of DCCI, critiqued the prevalent practice of “greenwashing” in industries, emphasizing the lack of transparency and accountability in environmental claims. He emphasized accurate environmental accounting, praising RTIS for data-driven solutions to meet this global need. Mr. Ahmad suggested extending the solutions beyond fashion, urging their adoption in banking, finance, manufacturing, and agriculture for sustainability.
Regarding the garment industry’s need for accountability, Mr. Shams Mahmood, Director of BGMEA, proposed the integration of RTIS to map the supply chain’s carbon footprint. He emphasized the importance of Bangladesh RMG industry to take its place at the next level of innovations and circularity, and not be just known as another cheap destination. Highlighting urgency in tracking and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, Mr. Fazlee Shamim Ehsan, director of BKMEA, advocated for advanced, real-time solutions like RTIS for improved factory data collection efficiency and sustainability.

One of Panel Discussion was on Policy & Regulatory Framework moderated by Shams Mahmud, Managing Director of ShaSha Denim Ltd. where Fazle Shamim Ehsan, Vice President of BKMEA, Rezaul Hoq, Director, Energy Efficiency and Conservation, SREDA, Wasim Zakariah, Director Posh Garment and Dr. Ijaz Hossain, Ex Dean of Engineering BUET spoke in the discussion.
2nd Panel Discussion was on User Experience of RTIS moderated by Felicity Tapsell, BESTSELLER Head of Responsible Sourcing where Dishan Karunaratne, Chief Representative – Bangladesh & Pakistan at BESTSELLER, Major Syed Anwarul Sabir (Retd.), Senior General Manager, Admin & Compliance, Palmal Group of Industries, Mashook Mujib Chowdhury, Manager, Sustainability, DBL Group delivered their opinion. The panelists focused on insights, accessibility, and overall satisfaction of software applications from the end user’s perspective.
The final Panel Discussion Expectations from RTIS moderated by Sheikh H.M. Mustafiz where Shaikh Akber Hakim, MD & CEO, IRI, S.M Majedur Rahman, Director at Giant Group, Country Director, DADA Headwear and S.M.Abu Talha, Chief Technical Officer of IRI participated in the discussion.
