From April 21 to 24, 2026, Jakob Müller Group will present technologies and solutions for the narrow fabric industry at Techtextil in Frankfurt – covering the textile value chain from weaving and warp knitting, through dyeing and finishing, to label production. As a live highlight, an interactive “sleep lab” makes functional textiles with integrated sensor technology tangible first-hand.

At the heart of the trade fair presence is the interactive “sleep lab,” developed in Jakob Müller Group’s innovation space LAB1887 and implemented together with Texsens, ETH Zurich and Empa (Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology).
Visitors can experience the technology live: a sensor-equipped mattress topper captures movements and pressure distribution, while the data is visualized in real time. The sensor mat was produced on the MÜGRIP MDW, a Jacquard weaving machine from Jakob Müller Group, and integrates more than 500 sensors. The manufacturing process is particularly innovative, as the textile structure and sensor technology are created in a single step.
The project is exemplary of LAB1887’s approach: combining state-of-the-art machine technology with new functionalities – developed with a clear focus on real industrial applications.
“At LAB1887, we consistently turn our customers’ ideas into reality. Together, we develop solutions that are technologically feasible and economically relevant. This shortens innovation cycles and creates real added value for our partners,” says Benedikt Rentsch, Managing Director LAB1887.
