Karim Textiles Limited Achieves LEED Gold Certification

Karim Textiles Limited has earned LEED Gold certification under the LEED O+M: Existing Buildings v4.1 rating system, reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainable operations and environmental stewardship in Bangladesh’s textile industry.

Located at Noorbagh, Mouchak, Kaliakoir, Gazipur-1751, the facility secured 73 points, achieving the Gold certification level. The recognition reflects the company’s continued efforts to improve operational efficiency while maintaining high standards in energy performance, water conservation, waste management, indoor environmental quality, and sustainable building operations.

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), is one of the world’s most widely recognized green building certification systems. The LEED O+M: Existing Buildings v4.1 framework evaluates the sustainability performance of existing facilities, emphasizing ongoing operational excellence rather than new construction.

The certification demonstrates Karim Textiles Limited’s dedication to integrating sustainable practices into its day-to-day operations while contributing to Bangladesh’s growing reputation as a global leader in environmentally responsible textile and apparel manufacturing.

As international brands increasingly prioritize sustainable sourcing, certifications such as LEED play a significant role in strengthening the competitiveness of Bangladeshi manufacturers in the global marketplace. By achieving LEED Gold status, Karim Textiles Limited joins the expanding list of environmentally responsible textile facilities supporting the country’s transition toward a greener and more sustainable industrial future.
