Desk Report: One of the largest readymade garment (RMG) factories in Bangladesh – KFL Group has yet again initiated a sustainable step to achieve new mileage on its premises, Khantex Composite Textiles and Longi Green Energy Co.Ltd signed an MoU to set up a rooftop solar project with the capacity of 5 MW in its factories on 19th March at the Westin hotel in the capital.

Ahsan Huda, Sr.Sales Manager Longi Green Energy Technology Co.Ltd; Md.Arifur Rahman Taluker, Head of Business Development & Engineering of KFL Solartech Ltd; Md.Tanid Iqbal, AGM – HR, Admin & Compliance of KFL Group were present at the signing ceremony.
Mr. Humayun Kabir Salim said Khantex Fashions Limited is our flagship company of KFL Group which is a LEED-certified Green Factory keeping in mind sustainability Programs in the early steps. We are also one of the pioneers to use the industry rooftop solar power plant with net metering to the national grid. The relentless cost savings and environmental safety have been brilliant from which we have decided to set up around 5 MW in our different concerns phase-wise and immd we’ll install 2 MW in Khantex Composite.
Khantex Composite Textiles Limited is concern of KFL Group massive investment of $38.80 million. The installation aims to be a US Green Building Council’s (USGBC) LEED Platinum Green vertical set up with all kinds of value additions including state-of-the-art dyeing and washing plant as one-stop solutions. Khantex’s other concern, Khantex Fashion Ltd. is also a LEED-certified green factory.
