Desk Report: On the occasion of “World Environment Day ” Department of Soil, Water and Environment, Dhaka University organized a seminar on 5th June at Curzon Hall in the capital. This year’s World Environment Day theme was “Living sustainably in harmony with nature”. More than 50 students attend this seminar.
At the event, Prof. Dr. AKM Mahbub Hasan, Honourable dean faculty of biological science, DU was present as a chief guest; Prof. Dr. Mihir Lal Saha, former acting dean, faculty of biological science, DU Md. Azahar Khan, Chairman, Mithela Group; Mahbub Khan Himel, Director, Mithela Group were present as Special guests; This event was presided by Prof, Dr. Md. Harunor Rashid Khan, Dept. of Soil, Water, Environment, University of Dhaka.

June 5 has been marked as World Environment Day across the world since 1972. The objective of celebrating World Environment Day is an attempt to bring about a better understanding of the effects of environmental degradation on our planet.
