The LYCRA Company participated in TRANSFORMERS: ED, a livestreamed educational conference for fashion students who are about to enter the wider fashion industry.
The event, which took place (Oct. 14-16) via Zoom, focused on sustainability and economic challenges facing the denim industry. Speakers spanning the denim manufacturing supply chain – fiber, yarn, chemistry, textiles, garment factories/laundries and machinery producers – spotlighted innovative new technologies and solutions and helped attendees understand the environmental impact at each step of denim production. Speakers also educated students on the inefficiencies and threats facing the denim supply chain, as well as opportunities for improvement and innovation.
Helen Latham, Senior Strategic Account Manager, The LYCRA Company, joined a panel discussion on October 14th at 3 PM BST. “The LYCRA Company is passionate about the denim industry and committed to educating students about our innovations, sharing our technical expertise, highlighting best practices and sharing insights on everything from consumer trends to sustainability,” Latham said. “We see our participation in TRANSFORMERS: ED as an investment in the future of our industry.”
TRANSFORMERS is collaborating with Ravensbourne University in London to produce the event, which will welcome students from 35 additional fashion schools across Europe.
