Latest innovative technology to boost the Bangladesh textile sector
Bangladesh has built a world-class reputation in knitwear and denim, and the next step in that journey is finishing — the stage where a fabric gains its real character.

The most valuable technology today is the one that gives producers precise, repeatable control over the hand of the fabric: raising, sueding and shearing machines that can turn a simple knit into a warm performance fleece, a peach-soft touch, or a refined brushed denim.
At Mario Crosta, we’ve built our POLARIS 28 around exactly this — a double-drum raising machine that delivers an even finish selvedge to selvedge, meter after meter. For a country producing large volumes for demanding global brands, this consistency is what turns good fabric into premium fabric, and lets local manufacturers move further up the value chain.
Reducing production cost & saving energy
In finishing, energy is one of the largest costs — which makes it one of the biggest opportunities.
At Mario Crosta, we engineer our machines to do more with less. Drawing on our long experience with inverter drives, we developed our own Energy Saving System (ESS): instead of losing the energy produced by the motor, we recover it, so it’s reused rather than wasted. The result is a significant reduction in energy consumption — and a lower cost per kilo of fabric, shift after shift, for the entire life of the machine.

Precision matters just as much: when a machine applies exactly the right finish the first time, producers gain consistent, first-pass quality and a better yield from every meter. And because Mario Crosta machines are built heavy and simple to maintain, they keep running reliably, with less downtime.
For us, efficiency isn’t a single feature — it’s the result of good engineering: lower energy, steady quality, and a machine that keeps working for years.
As a European brand, our specialty
Mario Crosta is an Italian family company founded in 1925. Last year we passed our 100th anniversary, and today we’re already in the fourth generation. Our specialty is textile finishing: the machines that give a fabric its final hand — raising, sueding, shearing and brushing. It’s a craft we’ve spent a century perfecting. In 1993,

Mario Crosta even helped bring polar fleece to life together with Malden Mills, today Polartec — which is why, in our industry, people say: “say Mario Crosta, say fleece”. What defines us as a European brand is the blend of precision engineering and craftsmanship: machines built heavy, accurate and to last, delivering the same premium result anywhere in the world — and, beyond the machine, a partnership of service and support that keeps our customers running.
The Bangladesh market & our future plans
Bangladesh is one of the most important textile hubs in the world, and a natural home for what Mario Crosta does: its strength in knits, fleece and denim is exactly where advanced finishing makes the difference. We’re proud to already work with manufacturers there, and we see real potential in helping the country move toward higher-value, premium finishes. Our plan is to stay close to this market — strengthening our local support and service, sharing our know-how, and partnering with producers who want a distinctive, repeatable quality. After 100 years, the Mario Crosta journey has always been about one thing: how a fabric feels — and Bangladesh is an important part of where that journey goes next.
