Matex Bangladesh Ltd. of Apex Holdings Ltd. achieves first in the country bluesign & ZDHC level 3 certification of local auxiliaries’ manufacturer

Recently Matex Banglades Ltd. concern of Apex Holdings Ltd. has got the opportunity to get the bluesign system partner agreement for the chemical supplier’s category. This opportunity has the first local manufacturing in Bangladesh whose 70 major fast-moving products (out of 150 products) are enlisted in the area of acid-neutralizer, wetting agents, enzymes, sequestering agents, detergents, anti-creasing agents, leveling agents, dispersing agents, soaping agents, fixing agents, softener, lubricants, bleaching agents, and optical brightener were enrolled in the system.

Matex Bangladesh Limited (MBL) started its production and distribution of specialty chemicals since 1994. The main objective of MBL local production facility was to supply fresh textile auxiliaries with the highest activity to local industries. Over the years, MBL has made significant advances in product development and diversification.  For the last 28 years, MBL fulfilled the demands of the textile industry by combining leading-edge technology & innovations and its products have been used by fabric-dyeing, yarn-dyeing, denim processing, terry towel processing, fabric printing and textile accessories dyeing industries for the export of garments to the markets of USA, Europe and Japan.

In the signing ceremony Mr. Mahir Ahmed, Director-Apex Holdings Ltd, and Mr. Walter Streitler, Director-Asia region, from bluesign have signed the agreement at Apex Holdings Ltd head office in Dhaka on 04th September 2022. MBL has passed the extensive bluesign assessment which was conducted last June. Mr. Shahan Reza, bluesign Country Manager-Bangladesh & Pakistan; Engr. Shaikh Reaz Uddin Ahmed; DGM-Operation; Mr. Shahinur Alam DGM-Marketing; Engr. Zahirul Islam DGM-Marketing and Mr. Habibur Rahman, Sr. Manager, R&D of Matex Banglades Ltd. were also present.

All of their products are developed as per guidelines of REACH, GOTS, ETAD, OEKO-TEX, ZDHC and all of USA, Japan and European buyers like H&M, C&A, M&S, INDITEX, LIDL, BEST SELLER, and IKEA. To operate smoothly and in a more systematic way of operation MBL has already implemented QMS ISO 9001:2015, EMS ISO 14001:2015, and OHS ISO 45001:2018; Also for its laboratory ISO 17025.
