BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) English Club, in collaboration with the Department of English, hosted a dynamic Motivational Movie Review Competition on 20 November 2024 in the university’s Seminar Room. The event attracted enthusiastic participation from students across various departments, providing a platform to showcase their analytical and creative skills. The competition was judged by Mr. Mohammad Imtiaj, Director of Public Relations at BUFT, and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ali Azgor Talukder, Proctor of BUFT, whose expertise brought depth to the evaluation process.
The presence of esteemed guests added prestige to the occasion, including Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Jalil, Dean of the Faculty of FTE & FS; Gp. Capt. ANM Rafiqul Alam (Retd.), Director of Student Welfare and Secretary of the Board of Trustees; Ms. Shahriar Parvin, Head of the Department of English; and Mrs. Shaila Islam, Assistant Professor in the Department of English.
The winners were recognized for their outstanding performances, with Marufa Ahmed Dola from the Department of English achieving the championship title. Sayed Yaseen Abdullah from the Department of AMT earned the first runner-up position, while Ummi Farima Raya from the Department of FDT secured the second runner-up spot.
Faculty members, university officers, and students filled the Seminar Room, applauding the participants’ efforts and celebrating their achievements. The event successfully served as a platform to nurture critical thinking and presentation skills, fostering a culture of intellectual engagement at BUFT. The BUFT English Club and the Department of English expressed their heartfelt appreciation to all contributors and participants, pledging to organize more enriching events in the future.
