A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony took place at the BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) on May 30, 2024. The MoU facilitates collaborative activities between the institutions in academics, training, fashion branding, and research based on equality and reciprocity.
The agreements were signed by Mr. Md. Shafiul Islam, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of BUFT, and Dr. Md. Kamruzzaman, Founder of Blucheez Outfitters. The ceremony was also attended by other notable members of the Board of Trustees, including Founder Chairman Mr. Muzaffar U. Siddique and Mr. Md. Faruque Hassan, BoT Member and former President of BGMEA. Additionally, BUFT Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. S. M. Mahfuzur Rahman, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Eng. Ayub Nabi Khan, Treasurer Prof. Dr. Abdul Jalil, and Deans, Academic, and Administrative Heads, along with Fazle Rabbi, Chief Operating Officer of Blucheez, were present at the event.
The MoU marks the beginning of a promising collaboration aimed at enhancing educational and practical experiences for students and professionals in the fashion design and technology sectors. The partnership will enable both institutions to share resources and expertise, promote innovative research, and foster skill development through specialized training programs. The collaboration is expected to boost the international and national presence of Jamdani, a traditional fabric, by leveraging modern branding techniques and market strategies.
During the ceremony, speakers emphasized the importance of such partnerships in driving academic excellence and industry relevance. They expressed optimism about the future benefits of the collaboration, highlighting its potential to create significant opportunities for students and professionals alike. The ceremony concluded with a firm commitment from both BUFT and Blucheez Outfitters to work closely together towards achieving their common goals.
