Knowledge creation and dissemination after proper review is an important protocol in technical publication.

Multidisciplinary approaches are needed these days to develop products that cater to the needs of society. Leading economies like the United States are now supporting sectors such as advanced manufacturing that can develop products that cater to national defense, homeland security, medical technology, etc. As a case in point, cotton textile sector is a classic example of being multidisciplinary in nature involving agronomy, manufacturing, chemical finishes, and marketing.

Given this scenario, there is a need to have a single platform where new knowledge in different fields such as science, mathematics, engineering, medicine, economics, and marketing, to name a few. Internationally acclaimed journals like Proceedings of National Academy of Sciences are an example of this multidisciplinary structure.

Catering to the immediate need for “Open Source” multidisciplinary journal, USA-based Texas Tech University has launched, “International Journal of Basic, Applied, and Multidisciplinary Research [IJBAMRe].” This journal will accept papers in different fields such as agriculture to engineering to medicine and management. The journal is free to publish and access, creating opportunities for global academia and industry to contribute articles and share latest information.

“The advantages of open access publishing include increases in an article’s visibility, citations, and impact. I am pleased that Texas Tech is furthering the rapid and broad dissemination of research through open access, which is particularly appropriate in supporting undergraduate research,“ stated Dr. Lawrence Schovanec, President of Texas Tech University.

A unique aspect of this journal is encouraging high school and undergraduate students to publish robust articles after peer-review. “It’s significant that we are dedicating specific sections of the journal to facilitate early career investigators, which includes undergraduate and potentially high school seniors,” stated Dr. Ernest Smith, Editorial Coordinator of the journal.

“Multidisciplinary research is vital to advancing technology, discovery, and solving the world’s problems. We are pleased to be able offer the journal as a venue for publishing the work of emerging scholars, and its open access allows us to share vital research without boundaries,” stated Dr. Tosha Dupras, Dean of College of Arts & Sciences at Texas Tech University.

Due to the nature of the journal, the journal has received the support of leading scholars in different fields who belong to reputed institutes such as National University of Singapore, International Cotton Advisory Committee, and who have achieved stellar recognitions in different fields such as Fellowship of Royal Academy of Engineering (UK), Padma Bhushan (India), Fellowship of National Academy of Inventors (USA), and a research associate of a former Nobel laureate.

The first issue of the journal with papers belonging to chemistry, global trade, economics, and manufacturing will be published in early Fall 2025.
