A new medical mask fiber has been developed by Far Eastern New Centure Corporation (FENC), which addresses a shortage in the meltblown non-wovens. According to the Taiwanese company, up to 20 million fabrics per day could exceed the daily demand of 13 million facemasks. The filtration layer of masks may be used to cover the nonwoven meltblowns. The unwoven structure of this type of material is based on nanoscale fibres. This arrangement allows the unwoven to absorb everything.
