The NITER Innovate Hackathon 2026 was held at the National Institute of Textile Engineering and Research (NITER) to enhance students’ innovative thinking and problem-solving skills. Organized by the NITER Computer Club, the day-long event focused on identifying real-life challenges across the campus and different sectors and developing technology-driven solutions to address them. The formal activities of the competition began at 10:00 am on Tuesday (August 25, 2026). NITER Director Professor Dr. Md. Ashekul Alam Rana attended the event as the Chief Guest and Chief Judge. NITER Registrar Badrul Haider Chowdhury and the Heads of five departments of NITER served as judges.

A total of 18 teams, with three members each, participated in the competition. The teams presented various projects and platforms addressing practical challenges related to NITER’s drainage system, transportation, information access and other campus facilities. Among the notable projects, Team 424 developed the ‘Notebook Platform’, aimed at bringing essential campus information together in one place. Niter Soyuz presented ‘FACTIV’, a solution focused on production planning challenges in the RMG sector. Niter_Ar_Akta_ConfusionMatrix and Gotei 13 worked on solutions to NITER’s drainage problems.

To make student transportation more convenient, Dark Phoenix developed a ‘Bus Tracking System’, while Niter_Ignite presented a question-and-answer-based system for easier information searching. Meanwhile, Hacksync developed the ‘NITER Alumni Platform’ to connect former and current NITER students. Team Luminous worked on updating the ‘NITER ERP System’ to strengthen the institute’s existing automation system. Three Bugg presented ‘TexA’, a technology designed to obtain information by scanning fabrics.

Other projects included ‘NIS Digital Islamic Library’ by Tayyib_14, a solution addressing classroom shortages by Team Innovatex, and ‘Every Club at NITER, One Portal’ by NeuroNest, aimed at bringing updates from all NITER clubs into a single platform. Several other teams, including Amihow, CodeNova, Quantum Mavericks, Niter_Breakpoint, and knull, also participated in the competition.

Alongside the main competition, a ‘Rapid Quiz’ session was held toward the end of the event, where five winners received prizes. According to the organizers, the teams securing first, second and third places will receive prize money of BDT 5,000, BDT 3,000 and BDT 2,000, respectively. However, the final winners were not announced at the event and will be disclosed later through an online announcement. The day-long NITER Innovate Hackathon 2026 concluded successfully at 4:20 pm.
