Eight students from the National Institute of Textile Engineering and Research (NITER) have successfully completed an international training programme in China, gaining practical exposure to advanced textile technologies, industrial operations, academic practices and cultural heritage.

The training programme was organised under the initiative of the Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA), providing the participating students with an opportunity to experience Chinaβs advanced textile manufacturing ecosystem beyond classroom-based learning.
During the programme, the students explored modern textile production systems, automation, quality control and industrial management practices. Their exposure covered several key areas of textile manufacturing, including spinning technology, woven fabric dyeing, man-made fibre dyeing, fabric structure and textile design.
As part of the industrial visits, the students visited Shengshan Group (θ³ε±±ιε’), where they observed modern woven fabric dyeing operations and industrial production processes. They also gained insights into the integrated technologies and production capabilities used in Chinaβs advanced spinning sector.
The programme also included academic and cultural sessions at Zhejiang Agriculture and Business College. The students participated in sessions covering Chinese 3D media, tea culture and tea processing, Chinese language, traditional armour culture, and artificial intelligence-driven vehicle technology.
At Shaoxing Secondary Technical School, the students received hands-on exposure to traditional natural indigo dyeing and printing techniques. They also prepared samples themselves, combining practical learning with an understanding of traditional textile practices.
The students further visited Hangzhou Digital Trade Point, where they explored Chinaβs digital economy, e-commerce ecosystem, technology-driven international trade and emerging business models.
As part of the international academic activities, the NITER delegation also participated in a multinational group presentation at Zhejiang Agriculture and Business College. Through the presentation, they shared their learning and experiences from the training programme with an international audience, strengthening their communication and presentation skills.
The eight NITER students who participated in the programme are Sifar Haider Shibeb, Abdul Qayyum Khandaker, Zahirul Islam Pranto, Khalid Saifullah Ifaf, Kazi Abdul Baki Naveen, Amit Sarker, Ariful Islam and Naimur Rahman Opu.
The programme provided the students with practical insights into automation, efficient production systems and technology-driven textile manufacturing. The exposure is expected to contribute to their professional development and help them bring international industrial practices and technological perspectives into Bangladeshβs textile and apparel sector.
