OEKO-TEX® Introduces STeP Certification for Sustainable Textile Industry

As the official representative of the OEKO-TEX®️ Association in Bangladesh, Hohenstein Institute Bangladesh is going to organize an exclusive two days (23rd, and 24th July 2023) training program from HOHENSTEIN ACADAMY on ‘OEKO-TEX®️ STeP’.

In a significant move towards promoting sustainability in the textile industry, OEKO-TEX® has introduced the STeP (Sustainable Textile Production) certification program. STeP is a comprehensive assessment tool designed to evaluate and recognize textile facilities that meet rigorous sustainability standards across various modules.

The STeP assessment tool encompasses several key areas, including Chemical Management, Environmental Performance, Health & Safety, Social Responsibility, Environmental Management, Quality Management, and On-site evaluation & surveillance visits. Each module focuses on different aspects of sustainability, ensuring that certified facilities meet the highest standards in all areas of textile production.

One of the major benefits of the STeP certification is its worldwide recognition. Textile facilities that achieve this certification will gain international recognition for their commitment to sustainable sourcing and environmentally friendly practices. This recognition will provide a competitive edge for brands and retailers seeking sustainable sourcing options.

The STeP certification also emphasizes resource efficiency and enables the coveted “Made in Green” label. Certified facilities will be known for their environment-friendly practices and responsible use of resources, attracting environmentally conscious customers and boosting their reputation in the market.

Industry professionals who should attend the STeP certification program include Directors, General Managers, Compliance Managers, ECR Managers, Production Engineers, Auditors, Environmental Specialists, Textile Engineers, Chemical Engineers, HR Administrators, Merchandisers, QA Personnel, and anyone interested in building a career in the textile industry.

The program has limited seating, with only 12 seats available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Participants will receive a participation certificate issued by the Hohenstein Academy, renowned for its expertise in textile sustainability.

To secure a seat, interested individuals are required to make an investment of BDT. 12,000 per participant, which includes 15% VAT, a training kit, lunch, and snacks. Payments can be made in advance via cheque, pay order, or through Bkash merchant account number +880 1755524666.
