Pakistan’s total textile exports increased by 23% year on year

pakistan-textilesAccording to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, Pakistan’s total textile exports increased by 23% year on year to $15.42 billion in FY 2021.

Knitwear exports increased by 37% year on year to $3.83 billion in FY21, up from $2.80 billion in FY20. Among other things, exports of bed wear and readymade garments increased by 29% year on year and 19% year on year, respectively. This exponential increase in textile exports during FY21 can be attributed to a 73% increase in exports to $1.67 billion during the final month of June’21, as well as a 57% increase over the previous month of May’21. The country’s textile exports are expected to grow further in FY22, as demand for Pakistani textiles is expected to remain strong, as many countries have developed a preference for Pakistani textile products.
