A panel discussion titled “From Factory to Consumer: Rethinking Bangladesh’s Apparel Value Chain for the New Retail Era” was held today at the 8th Bangladesh Retail Congress, organized by Bangladesh Brand Forum at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Dhaka.

The session featured distinguished panelists, including Shah Rayeed Chowdhury, Director at BGMEA and Miniso Bangladesh; Fahima Akhter, Director at BGMEA; Maria B Safinaz, and Sapphiare; and Junaid Abu Salay Musa, Director at Epyllion and Sailor.

During the discussion, the panelists underscored the immense potential of local brands in Bangladesh’s rapidly expanding retail market. They emphasized the need for local industries to foster innovation and strengthen collaboration, while leveraging domestic talent and expertise to build globally competitive brands.

The conversation also highlighted the importance of sustainability and social responsibility, deeper research into evolving consumer preferences and behavior, and the adoption of effective sales strategies.
