A delegation from the Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PHMA), led by Chairman (Southern Zone) Abdul Rehman, visited the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) headquarters in Dhaka yesterday.
The visiting delegation engaged in a fruitful meeting with BGMEA Administrator Anwar Hossain, members of the Support Committee, and leading garment exporters to discuss potential avenues of collaboration that could drive growth in the apparel and textile sectors of both countries.
During the meeting, BGMEA Administrator Anwar Hossain highlighted Bangladesh’s strategic shift towards producing more complex and value-added garments, particularly those crafted from man-made fibres. He also emphasized the industry’s commitment to environmental sustainability and the adoption of advanced technologies to meet global market demands.
Both sides agreed that Bangladesh’s globally recognized ready-made garment (RMG) industry and Pakistan’s robust textile base present complementary strengths. They emphasized the significant potential for knowledge exchange, industrial cooperation, and innovation that could mutually benefit their respective industries.
The discussions reinforced a shared vision of enhancing regional partnerships to boost competitiveness and expand global market reach.
