Port City International University Signs MoU with Zhejiang Agricultural Business College, China

Port City International University (PCIU) has entered into a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the School of Creative Design, Zhejiang Agricultural Business College, China, focusing on cultural exchange, joint research initiatives, skill-sharing, and the establishment of a potential research center to foster international academic cooperation.

The signing ceremony took place at PCIU’s campus in Chattogram, with distinguished representatives from both Bangladesh and China participating.

On behalf of Zhejiang Agricultural Business College, the MoU was officially signed by Prof. Nusrat Jahan Nipa, Foreign Visiting Professor and authorized signatory. Representing Port City International University, Mr. Asraful Islam, Chairman of the Department of Fashion Design & Technology (FDT), signed the agreement.

The program was graced by the presence of Professor Dr. Md. Nurul Anwar, Vice Chancellor of PCIU, along with the University Registrar, Deans, and faculty members.

From China, several distinguished academics joined the ceremony online, including:

  • Professor Zhang Chi, Vice Dean, School of Creative Design, Zhejiang Agricultural Business College
  • Professor Yang Chaodeng, Director, Social Services Centre, School of Creative Design
  • Professor Bao Gangjun, Zhejiang Agricultural Business College
  • Professor Jiang Yiang, Zhejiang Agricultural Business College

The ceremony was coordinated by Mr. Hamidur Rahman, Program Coordinator and Bangladesh-China Business Cooperation Facilitator, who emphasized the long-term potential of this partnership in developing knowledge exchange platforms, cross-border innovation, and sustainable academic collaboration.

This collaboration aims to promote student and faculty exchanges, joint cultural programs, design-based research, and social business development projects, particularly in the fields of creative design, heritage textiles, and skill development for future industries.

Speaking on the occasion, PCIU Vice Chancellor Dr. Md. Nurul Anwar highlighted the significance of the partnership: “This MoU opens new opportunities for our students and faculty to engage in international knowledge exchange and creative research.

Together with our Chinese counterparts, we aim to establish a global platform for innovation and collaboration.” The initiative marks an important milestone in Bangladesh-China higher education cooperation, paving the way for enhanced cultural ties, research development, and industry-academia collaboration.
