Primeasia University Textile Alumni Association Introduction meeting held

Primeasia University’s Textile Engineering alumni have officially launched their Alumni Association, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their collective journey.

The inaugural ceremony and introductory meeting unfolded at the University Hall, drawing over 100 former students to witness the historic moment. The newly-formed committee was unveiled, with Engr. Rashed Ahamed, a distinguished member of the 042 batch, assumed the role of President on February 22. A 281-member executive committee was also announced, showcasing the widespread support and enthusiasm among the alumni.

Key figures in the association include Engr. Saiful Islam Nadim, elected as General Secretary from the 051 batch, and Md. Tanjir Jimi, representing the 042 batch, who took on the responsibilities of Treasurer. The event was graced by the presence of Md. Raihan Azad, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Primeasia University.

Distinguished guests included Prof. Dr. Iffat Jahan, Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Dr. Suvamoy Datta, Pro-Vice-Chancellor; Prof. M.A. Khaleq, Head of the Department of Textile Engineering at Primeasia University; Shiper Ahmed, Director of Finance; and Shahidul Islam, chief adviser of the PAU Textile Alumni Association.

The committee also introduced several key office-bearers, such as Engr. Mizanur Rahman, Sr. Vice President; Sarwar Rony, Sr. Joint Secretary; Engr. Toufiq Hasan and Engr. Al Amin, Joint Secretary; Eng. Tanjir Jimi, Finance Secretary; Engr. Rifat Huq, Deputy Finance Secretary; Engr. Atiqur Rahman, Engr. Tauhidul Islam Sabbir, Aslam Hossain, Faizul Islam, Tanjiz Wahid, Organizing Secretary, Engr. Muinuddin Hasan Shuvo, Press and Publication Secretary; and Engr. Abdullah Al Zubayer, among others.

During the event, all committee members unanimously agreed to publish an annual magazine focusing on communication, mass media, industry collaboration, and seminars. This initiative reflects the commitment of the association to foster continuous communication and engagement among its members.

Highlighting the significance of the Textile Engineering department, it was emphasized that the department, established in 2003, stands as one of the premier institutes for producing textile graduates. With over 10,000 students having completed their B.S.C Engineering degrees under this department, its legacy as a leading educational institution remains unparalleled.
