Primitek Group has taken a major step toward sustainable industrial operations by signing an agreement for a 6.5 MWp rooftop solar power project at its facility located in the National Special Economic Zone (NSEZ). The project will be implemented under the OpEx (Operational Expenditure) model, where renewable energy solutions provider Solaric will act as the investor and developer.

The agreement was signed on behalf of Primitek Group by M. A. Quieum, CIP, Managing Director of Primitek Group (Primitek Industries Ltd.). Md. Nazibuzzaman, Chief Operating Officer of Primitek Group, was also present during the signing ceremony.

Representing Solaric Limited were Nasir Ahmed, Director & CTO; Md. Istiak Islam, Manager (Business Development), and Md. Sayed Mortoza, Assistant Manager, Design & Optimization, along with other officials involved in the project. Under the OpEx model, Solaric will finance, install, and operate the solar power plant, enabling Primitek Group to utilize renewable electricity without any upfront capital investment. With a total installed capacity of 6.5 MWp, the project is expected to be among the largest OpEx-based rooftop solar installations in Bangladesh.
Once operational, the solar power plant will significantly reduce the facility’s environmental footprint. Over an estimated 30-year project lifespan, the installation is projected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 150,000 tons, supporting Bangladesh’s transition toward clean and sustainable energy solutions.
Industry observers note that such large-scale renewable energy initiatives within economic zones are becoming increasingly important in driving Bangladesh’s green industrial transformation and strengthening the global competitiveness of its manufacturing sector.
The initiative reflects Primitek Group’s commitment to integrating sustainable energy solutions into its operations while contributing to a cleaner and more resilient industrial future for Bangladesh.
