A grand Prize Giving Ceremony titled “The Art of Strategic Textile Merchandising” was recently held. This ceremony was not only a platform to honor the winners but also an opportunity to highlight the importance of the textile merchandising profession and express confidence in the bright future of this industry. The event was organized at the Apparels Institute of Fashion & Technology (AIFT).

The ceremony marked the successful conclusion of a 7-day seminar and workshop on “The Art of Strategic Textile Merchandising”, organized by the Textile Engineers Association (TEA). The primary objective of the seminar was to enhance the strategic knowledge and practical skills of future textile engineers and merchandisers.
After the intensive 7-day training, an assessment was conducted, and successful candidates were awarded certificates. The seminar covered various aspects of textile merchandising, including market analysis, supply chain management, product pricing, sourcing strategies, and international trade regulations. Experienced trainers and industry experts shared their valuable insights and real-world experiences, significantly enriching the students’ theoretical and practical knowledge.
This seminar not only enhanced the students’ understanding but also sowed the seeds of innovative and strategic thinking, which will contribute to the advancement of Bangladesh’s textile industry in the future.

In their speeches, the guests emphasized the importance of textile merchandising and its impact on students’ future careers. They noted, “In today’s competitive world, technical knowledge alone is not enough; strategic merchandising skills are also essential.” They highly praised TEA’s initiative and congratulated the students for participating in such a valuable seminar.
At one point, the participating students shared their experiences and knowledge gained over the past 7 days. TEA awarded participation certificates to 280 attendees, while 98 students received passing certificates for successfully completing the final examination.
TEA directors expressed optimism that such initiatives would significantly contribute to skill development and career readiness in the textile industry. Award-winning students shared that the seminar helped them better understand the complex aspects of merchandising and made their career path clearer.
The Textile Engineers Association (TEA) plans to organize more such educational programs in the future, aiming to play a crucial role in developing skilled manpower and advancing the country’s textile sector.
