Rafia Anowar, Director of Textown Group, started a new position as ATTI Representative Bangladesh. This appointment solidifies Bangladesh’s influence in global efforts towards a more sustainable apparel industry.

Rafia Anowar brings extensive experience and a deep understanding of the industry’s challenges to this new position. The ATTI initiative, jointly led by the International Apparel Federation (IAF) and the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF), was unveiled during a panel discussion in London as part of the city’s Climate Action Week. Rafia Anowar also represented ATTI and Textown Group on a panel by New Climate Institute at the Goals House titled “Fashioning the Future”.

In a statement she said, ATTI responds to the priorities of our manufacturing peers by promoting a nationally-oriented and globally-coordinated approach to tackle key sustainability challenges across the apparel and textile supply chain — from energy efficiency, water usage to emissions and broader environmental impacts. Together, we are building a smarter, stronger, and more sustainable apparel and textile industry, she added. We were delighted to have welcomed such a dynamic and engaged audience at our launch event and grateful to the exceptional lineup of speakers who joined us to share insights from across the apparel and textile sector, she added.

Ms. Anowar’s involvement is expected to help unify fragmented environmental strategies and requirements from various buyers, addressing issues of audit fatigue and promoting more practical and cohesive sustainability efforts within factories.
