Bangladesh textile garments industry has been suffering a lot during this pandemic situation. It has been largely affect order decrease due to COVID-19 outbreak. Last year the industry survived with some good initiatives and government support. As the country is largely affected by second wave of COVID now it’s really very hard time for this industry. Recently BGMEA election has been completed and new BGMEA committee with the leadership of Mr. Faruque Hassan has taken the charge for 2021-2023. Textile Focus has been talking with BGMEA members’ company owners regarding the expectation from the new board. Jubaer Hossain Asif, Director, Rose Garden Apparels Ltd. expressed wish to new BGMEA board.
In this Crisis moment, I would really appreciate a strong unity and expect to have a healthy business environment and balance in trade for our long term survival. I would recommend to establish a price flooring on the RMG products where none can offer price beyond that.
