Desk Report: According to EPB data, Bangladesh export earnings in the July-March period of the current financial year 2021-22 increased by 33.41% year-on-year (YoY) growth to $38.6 billion in the first nine months (July-March). The country previously roped in $28.93 billion in the same period of FY21
The EPB data showed that export earnings from RMG in the nine months of FY22 fetched $31.42 billion, which is 33.81 per cent higher than the earnings of $23.48 billion in FY21.Export earnings from woven garments soared by 32.07 per cent to $14.3 billion in July-March of FY22 from $10.83 billion in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
Earnings from knitwear exports grew by 35.29 per cent to $17.11 billion in the nine months of FY22 against $12.65 billion in the same period of FY21. Export earnings from home textiles advanced by 36.79 per cent to $1.15 billion in the July-March period of FY22 from $846 million in the same period of FY21.Bangladesh government has set an $80 billion export target for the fiscal year 2024.
