RMG Industry is committed to continue the safety momentum

The International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) jointly organised the first Industrial Safety Forum (ISF) discussion in Dhaka recently.

Taking part in the discussion, BGMEA Vice President Miran Ali highlighted the unprecedented strides made by Bangladesh’s RMG industry in the area of workplace safety, becoming a role model for others to emulate.

A culture of workplace safety has been created in the apparel industry of Bangladesh as a result of massive safety initiatives, trainings and awareness raising programs, he said adding that the industry is committed to continue the safety momentum.

Mohammad Hatem, Executive President of BKMEA, Masarrat Quader – Public Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement Manager, Bangladesh, H&M Group also spoke at the technical session which was moderated by Dr Khondaker Golam Moazzem, Research Director at CPD.
