RMG sector generated $3.59bn representing an 8.29 percent in May 2026

As per the Export promotion bureau of Bangladesh, during the July–May period of FY 2025–26, the sector recorded total exports of USD 35.31 billion, reflecting a -3.41% decline compared to USD 36.56 billion in the corresponding period of FY 2024–25.

On a year-on-year basis, Bangladesh apparel exports experienced a decrease of -8.29%, Decreasing from USD 3.92 billion in May 2025 to USD 3.59 billion in May 2026. Within this contraction, the Knitwear sector decrease to USD 1.97 billion, representing a -8.91% decrease compared to the corresponding year, while the Woven wear sector decreases to USD 1.62 billion with a -7.53% decrease year-over-year.
