Rubana Huq honoured with Human Right Award by CNMI Sustainable Fashion Awards 2022

Rubana Huq, former president of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), has been honoured with the Human Right Award by CNMI Sustainable Fashion Awards 2022 on the occasion of Milan Fashion Week.

The National Chamber of Italian Fashion (CNMI) Sustainable Fashion Awards 2022 featured and awarded personalities who have emerged in the Italian and international fashion industry for their commitment to sustainability in its highest sense, including vision, innovation, commitment to craftsmanship, inclusivity, circular economy, human rights and environmental justice.

Huq was recognised by the Artistic Director of Valentino, Pierpaolo Piccioli.

Currently, Huq is the vice chancellor of Asian University for Women Asian University for Women at Chattogram.

Other notable figures who were also honoured with the award included Eileen Fisher, Giorgio Armani, and companies awarded for sustainability included Timberland, Bottega, Zegna.

The National Chamber of Italian Fashion (CNMI), in collaboration with the United Nations Ethical Fashion Initiative (Efi), a programme of the International Trade Centre, and with the support of the foreign affairs ministry, the Ice Agency and the Municipality of Milan, organised the ceremony for the delivery of the CNMI Sustainable Fashion Awards 2022.
