SAIHAM Cotton Mills Limited has reached a significant milestone in its sustainability journey with both Unit 1 and Unit 2 of its facilities in Madhabpur, Habiganj, Bangladesh earning the prestigious LEED Silver certification. Awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), the certifications were granted under the LEED BD+C: New Construction v4 rating system, with each unit scoring 58 points. This achievement highlights Saiham’s strong commitment to environmentally responsible practices, energy efficiency, and sustainable infrastructure development.

Located in Nayapara, Saihamnagar, Madhabpur, both facilities have been designed and operated with a focus on minimizing environmental impact while improving the quality of life for workers. The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification recognizes excellence in green building strategies, including reduced energy and water consumption, improved indoor environmental quality, and responsible material use.
The addition of Saiham’s two LEED-certified units contributes to Bangladesh’s growing leadership in sustainable manufacturing. With this recognition, the total number of LEED-certified Ready-Made Garment (RMG) factories in Bangladesh has now risen to 253. Among them are 105 Platinum, 132 Gold, and 12 Silver certified facilities.
