Saitex has released its 2025 Manufacturing Mill Impact Report, highlighting progress in sustainable manufacturing, renewable energy, circularity, resource efficiency, social responsibility and technology-driven transparency.

Production Growth and Energy Efficiency

Since its establishment in 2001, Saitex has evolved from an apparel manufacturer into a vertically integrated manufacturing ecosystem covering apparel manufacturing, fabric and spinning, upcycling and repair. The company’s approach focuses on combining people, nature, and technology to transform how denim is produced and reused. In 2025, Saitex Fabric Mill increased production by 22%, while electricity consumption per meter of fabric decreased by 22%, from 4.00 kWh/m in 2024 to 3.11 kWh/m in 2025.

Renewable Energy Transition

Renewable energy accounted for 64% of the mill’s total electricity mix, including 19% generated through on-site solar power. Saitex aims to operate the mill on 100% renewable energy by 2030. The mill also recorded a 20% reduction in CO₂ emissions per metre of fabric, from 3.31 kg CO₂e/m in 2024 to 2.65 kg CO₂e/m in 2025, despite the increase in production.

Lower Energy Use in Apparel Manufacturing

At Saitex Apparel Manufacturing, electricity consumption per garment declined by 10.51% in 2025, while production decreased by only 0.54%. The company attributed the improvement mainly to the full-year operation of its rooftop solar installation at Saitex 2. Saitex also reported a 2.19% reduction in emissions from apparel manufacturing, with emissions per garment declining from 4.56 kg CO₂e in 2024 to 4.46 kg CO₂e in 2025.

Water and Waste Management

Water and waste management remained important parts of Saitex’s circular manufacturing strategy. The company reported a 9% reduction in water consumption per meter of fabric, while working toward a closed-loop water system designed to return 60–70% of treated water to production. Waste per meter of fabric also decreased by 24%, while 94% of mill waste was recycled in 2025. Fabric waste was converted into carpets, while fiber and yarn waste were processed into new open-end yarns.

Technology and Digital Traceability

Technology continues to play a major role in Saitex’s sustainability and transparency efforts. The company uses artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, IoT, RFID, robotics and robotic process automation across its smart manufacturing operations.  In 2025, 100% of production data was migrated to the Made2Flow platform, bringing apparel and mill operations into one unified system. Saitex also provides a digital product passport upon request for every garment produced at its facilities.

Community and Social Impact

Saitex continued its social impact initiatives in 2025. Six wells were completed through the Clean Water Project – Anh Chị Em, providing participating communities with access to clean water. Five additional wells are planned for 2027. The company also received 78 third-party visits in 2025, including 21 social and environmental certification audits. All certification-related audits were successfully completed with no issues identified.

90/10 Manufacturing Model for US Job Creation

Another major initiative highlighted in the report is Saitex’s proposed 90/10 manufacturing model, with 90% of production remaining in Vietnam and 10% taking place in Los Angeles. The company argues that the model could help rebuild US manufacturing employment while maintaining global cost competitiveness. According to Saitex’s modelling, if 100 manufacturers adopted the 90/10 model, it could create 250,000 new US manufacturing jobs, generate more than $12 billion in annual domestic wages and contribute $21.6 billion to US GDP.

Building a More Circular Manufacturing Future

The 2025 Impact Report reflects Saitex’s continued focus on reducing environmental impact while strengthening circular manufacturing, digital traceability, renewable energy use, employee well-being and community development. The company was also recognized by Economist Impact in 2025 as one of 12 “Trust Builders” in The Business of Doing Good in Asia for its technology-driven approach to transparency and impact traceability.
