Sammilito Parishad seeks vote for full panel in next BGMEA  elections

The Sammilito Parishad, a panel which is participating in the biennial polls of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) host a member’s meet up and conference to introduce panel members on 6 March at  the Radisson Blu, Water Garden, Dhaka. Owners of different RMG industry, representatives of electronic and print media was present in the even. SM Mannan (Kochi), the panel leader of the Sammilito Parishad introduced all the panel members with the audience.

Former Commerce Minister and present member of  parliamentary constituency Rangpur-4 Tipu Munshi was present as chief guest while Abdus Salam Murshedy, incumbent MP from Khulna-4, Md. Khosru Chowdhury, Member of Parliament, Dhaka 18, BGMEA President Faruque Hassan, who is backing the parishad, joined in the event alongside former presidents and leaders. Siddiqur Rahman, chief election coordinator of Sammilito Parishad act as the anchor of the programme.

The election of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA ) for the term 2024-2026 will be held on 9 March 2024.

This year, Seha Designs BD Ltd Managing Director and Rime Apparels Chairman SM Mannan Kochi is the panel leader of the Sammilito Parishad. Kochi, who is also serving as general secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League, is also the senior vice-president of the current board of the BGMEA.

SM Mannan (Kochi), the panel leader of the Sammilito Parishad, called for working together amid the current global crisis so the sector can become sustainable. 

The Parishad also promised that it would work to develop and facilitate the growth of the small and medium enterprises in the garment sector.
