SDC and BGMEA discussed on AI-enabled production systems need to explore nature-based dyeing solutions

A delegation from the Society of Dyers & Colourists (SDC), an international professional society specializing in colour visited BGMEA. Established in 1884 in UK and granted a Royal Charter in 1963, SDC is recognized globally for its expertise in colour science and education. As a registered charity, the organization delivers courses and professional qualifications up to degree level, while also conducting webinars and regional programs across the UK and overseas. During the meeting, the SDC delegation held an extensive discussion with BGMEA Vice President (Finance) Mijanur Rahman and BGMEA Director Mohammed Sohel. The conversation focused on SDC’s knowledge of dyes, nature based dyeing solution, the growing urgency for AI integration in textile dyeing, and the importance of creating a skilled workforce to adapt to AI-enabled production systems. Underscoring the need to explore nature-based dyeing solutions using Bangladesh’s own rich natural resources to reduce dependency on synthetic dyes.Vice President (Finance) Mijanur Rahman emphasized that the industry needs to embrace AI integration for efficiency and competitiveness, while aligning with BGMEA’s broader sustainability vision. BGMEA Director Mohammed Sohel reiterated BGMEA’s strong commitment to sustainability and circularity, noting that collaborations such as this could play a transformative role in shaping the future of Bangladesh’s RMG industry.
