Desk Report: An interactive seminar was organized by Dhaka University’s Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering Department & Bureau 555 on Wednesday, August 24th, 2022 at DU campuses.
The seminar titled ‘Fast forward: Fashion Tech’ was held at the Centre for Advanced Research in Arts and Social Sciences(CARASS) which is a virtual seminar room located beside TSC at Dhaka University.
Prof. Dr. Hafiz Md. Hasan Babu, Dean, Dhaka University’s Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering Department; Professor Dr. Shamim Ahmed Dewan, Director of DU Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering Department; Professor. Latifa Zaman Nusrat Mahmud, Director, Hamid Fabrics Ltd & Co-Founder of Bureau555 and others were present.
Nusrat Mahmud, Director of Hamid Fabrics Limited, highlighted the progress of the Bangladesh textile and garment sector and detailed how technology can be applied to the garment sector.
Speakers also said, In the fourth industrial revolution, technologies have surrounded us in such a way that we cannot live without technology even if we want to. Presently there is no alternative to robotics to reduce production costs and deliver quality garments on time in the garment sector.
