Dhaka, October 30, 2024 – The Aziz Group Convention Hall in Tejgaon was abuzz with industry leaders and experts as it hosted a seminar on “Scalable Technology Solutions for Next Generation Fibers.” The event, organized by SAS Enterprise in collaboration with Spinnova, aimed to explore innovative and sustainable solutions for the textile industry.

The seminar commenced at 10:30 AM with a warm welcome and introduction, setting the stage for a series of insightful presentations and discussions. Mr. Rajibul Huq Chowdhury, Managing Director of Aziz Group, delivered the opening speech, highlighting the importance of sustainable practices in the textile sector and the role of innovation in driving industry growth.
Following the opening remarks, Mr. P- Matin Chowdhury, Managing Director of New Asia Group, shared his extensive industry expertise. He emphasized the critical need for innovation to meet the growing demands of the global textile market and the importance of adopting sustainable practices to ensure long-term industry viability.
Dr. Shahriare Mahmood, Chief Product & Sustainability Officer at Spinnova, took the stage to present on “The Future of Textile Fiber: Spinnova Innovation for a Sustainable Industry.” Dr. Mahmood discussed Spinnova’s groundbreaking technology that transforms wood pulp and waste into textile fibers without the use of harmful chemicals. This innovative process significantly reduces environmental impact, making it a game- changer for the textile industry.
Mr. Lasse Holopainen, Chief Revenue Officer at Spinnova, followed with a detailed presentation on “Technology Solutions for Next Generation Fibers.” He elaborated on the scalability and sustainability of Spinnova’s processes, which are designed to meet the evolving needs of the textile industry. Mr. Holopainen highlighted the flexibility of Spinnova’s technology in using various feedstocks, including wood pulp, agricultural waste, textile waste, and leather waste, to produce high-quality fibers.
The seminar also featured a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Pro Vice Chancellor of BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology. The panel included key figures such as Mr. Saleudh Zaman Khan, Managing Director of NZ Tex Group, and the speakers from Spinnova. The discussion delved into the practical applications and future prospects of sustainable fiber technologies in Bangladesh, addressing both opportunities and challenges.
The event concluded with a Q&A session, allowing attendees to engage directly with the experts. This was followed by a networking lunch, providing an opportunity for participants to discuss potential collaborations and share insights.
