Shaheed Selim Central Library of BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) has successfully launched a vibrant and inspiring three-day Book Fair, with the Opening Ceremony held on 20 October 2025 at the university campus. The event brought together students, faculty members, and book enthusiasts in a spirited celebration of literature, knowledge, and creative exploration. The Book Fair runs from 20 to 22 October 2025, featuring a rich lineup of literary events, book exhibitions, and direct interactions with publishers.
The Opening Ceremony was graced by the presence of Mr. Faruque Hassan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of BUFT, as Chief Guest. Also present as Special Guest was Mr. Nesar Uddin Ayub, Director of the Bangladesh Publishers and Book Sellers Association, who shared insightful perspectives on the current trends in the publishing industry. The event was presided over by Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Acting Vice Chancellor of BUFT and Convener of the Book Fair.
This year’s fair witnessed the participation of 26 leading publishers from across Bangladesh, offering a wide selection of titles ranging from academic textbooks and research works to novels, fashion and design publications, and general interest books. The fair provided a dynamic platform for the BUFT community to discover new literature and engage with publishing professionals. The Shaheed Selim Central Library and the BUFT administration extend sincere appreciation to all participating publishers, distinguished guests, faculty, students, and volunteers whose support and involvement made the Book Fair a grand success.
