A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed between the Department of Apparel Manufacturing and Management, Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology, Bangladesh, and the Department of Creative Design, Zhejiang Agricultural Modern College, China.
The collaboration aims to promote academic, research, and cultural exchange between the two institutions, focusing on creative design, apparel manufacturing, and modern educational development.
Professor Nusrat Jahan Nipa, representing the Chinese side, served as the signatory and academic liaison for the MoU under the China-Bangladesh Education and Research Collaboration Initiative. She emphasized that this partnership will play a key role in expanding innovation and creative knowledge exchange between China and Bangladesh.
Mr. Hamidur Rahman, Business Coordinator, noted that this agreement represents a significant opportunity for strengthening educational and business relations between the two nations.
From Bangladesh, the signing ceremony was attended by the Vice-Chancellor of Shanto-Mariam University, while Professor and Artist Mostafizul Hoque, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, attended as the chief guest.
Farjana Mita, Head of the Department of Apparel Manufacturing and Management, signed the MoU on behalf of Shanto-Mariam University.
Apparel Management Department BA (Hons) Coordinator Rajib Das was present during the event, contributing to departmental representation. MBA Coordinator Reashed Bin Kabir successfully hosted the entire program, ensuring smooth proceedings. Engineer Lavlu Mia from the Apparel Management Department coordinated the overall MoU activities and documentation process.
On the Chinese side, participants joined online, including Deputy Registrar Tang Yin, Professor Yang Chaodeng, Head of Sino-Foreign Cooperation, Yang Assistance, and Zhang Xinyi, Director of the International Affairs Office.
This MoU marks a new chapter in China-Bangladesh academic collaboration, paving the way for joint research, faculty exchange, and curriculum development in creative and technological disciplines.
