Shin Shin Group Publishes Its First Sustainability Report

Shin Shin Group, a prominent player in the global apparel industry, has proudly released its inaugural Sustainability Report, detailing the company’s efforts toward sustainable growth and its commitment to environmental and social responsibility.

The report highlights significant achievements in clean energy adoption, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction, and the integration of sustainable materials into production processes. Prepared in accordance with Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, the report covers the company’s performance from January to December 2023.

Since its inception in 2007, Shin Shin Group has grown rapidly, operating five factories across Dhaka, Narayanganj, and Chattogram with over 8,700 employees. Despite this growth, the company remains dedicated to prioritizing the well-being of people and the planet.

Key highlights from the report include:

  • Clean Energy Initiatives: Adoption of renewable energy sources and LEED Gold-certified green factory construction.
  • Sustainable Materials: 35-50% of orders are certified under the Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) or Global Recycled Standard (GRS), with plans to increase these figures.
  • Community Programs: Scholarships for workers’ children, free vision tests and eyeglasses through VisionSpring Bangladesh, and inclusive employment opportunities for marginalized groups.

The company’s success is underpinned by its skilled workforce, strategic investments in human capital, and state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities.
