Showkat Aziz Russell named BTMA President for 2025–2027 Term

The election results of the Office Bearers and Board of Directors of the Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) for the 2025–2027 term was announced by the BTMA Election Board on November 25, 2025, at the BTMA Gulshan office. In accordance with Rule 24(1) of the Trade Organizations Rules–2025, the Honorable Chairman of the Election Board and former President of BTMA, Mr. Jahangir Alamin, formally declared the names of the newly elected members of the Board of Directors as well as the President and Vice Presidents of BTMA in the presence of the candidates.

Mr. Jahangir Alamin stated that Mr. Showkat Aziz Russell was elected unopposed as President of BTMA for the 2025–2027 term. In addition, Mr. Md. Shamim Islam from the Yarn Manufacturing category, Mr. Md. Abul Kalam from the Fabric Manufacturing category, and Mr. Shafiqul Islam Sarkar from the Textile Product Processor category were elected unopposed as Vice Presidents.

The other elected Directors of BTMA for the 2025–2027 term are: Mr. Md. Badsha Mia, Mr. Sajid Israq, Mr. Md. Tanvir Khan, Mr. Md. Shahid Alam, Mr. Mohd. Khorshed Alam, Ms. Afroza Khanam, Mr. Ruhul Amin, Mr. Mirza Ahmed Ispahani, Mr. Naim Hossain, Mr. Rubayet Haider, Engineer Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed, Ms. Sanchia Chowdhury, Chowdhury Mohammad Hanif, Syed Eleus Sirajee, Syed Rezwanul Huq, Mr. Md. Kawser Hossain, Ms. Nur-E-Yasmin Fatima, Mr. Nadiruzzaman Khan, Mr. B. M. Shoeb, Mr. Md. Mizanur Rahman, Mr. Md. Sohel Khan, Mr. Mahbubur Rahman Monir, and Mr. Matiur Rahman.

Accordingly, on December 18, 2025, the elected Office Bearers and honorable members of the Board of Directors of BTMA for the 2025–2027 term formally assumed office from the outgoing Office Bearers and the 44th Board of Directors of the 2020–2025 term.
