The region’s leading textile and garment technology exhibition, ITMA ASIA, made a successful return to Singapore after two previous editions in 2001 and 2005.

Combined with CITME, the four-day ITMA ASIA + CITME exhibition at the Singapore Expo concluded on 31 October 2025, earning praise from participants for its strong regional buyer turnout and international visitor mix. On the supply side, the show was well represented by companies from major textile machinery manufacturing regions, offering buyers a balanced and comprehensive selection of solutions.

The exhibition attracted over 26,600 visitors from 109 countries and regions, reaffirming its reputation as the region’s most influential platform for textile and garment manufacturing technologies.

Approximately 92 percent of visitors came from overseas, with 35 percent from South Asia and 30 percent from Southeast Asia. The top three visitor countries were India (19 percent), China (11 percent), and Indonesia (10 percent), while Bangladesh, Pakistan, Vietnam, and Malaysia also ranked among the top 10.

The show owners – CEMATEX (the European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers), China Textile Machinery Association (CTMA), and The Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT (CCPIT TEX) – credited the exhibition’s success to Singapore’s ideal location, business-friendly environment, and seamless visitor experience.

Mr. Alex Zucchi, President of CEMATEX, said that exhibitor feedback had been very positive, as the high-quality visitorship and serious business discussions were greatly appreciated. He added that the exhibition created a strong sense of optimism about the opportunities ahead amid current economic challenges.

Mr. Gu Ping, President of CTMA, remarked that Asia, the world’s largest textile hub, boasts a vast industrial scale and plays a key role globally. With the successful conclusion of ITMA ASIA + CITME Singapore 2025, it is clear that the Asian textile industry, including East Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, is developing rapidly. He noted that this reflects the global textile industry’s growing demand for exploring emerging markets.

Many exhibitors expressed satisfaction with the event’s outcomes. Mr. Tobias Schaefer, Vice President of Andritz Nonwoven & Textile, said the combined exhibition in Singapore proved to be a pivotal platform, bringing together a remarkably international audience. The visitor numbers, quality of discussions, and focus on innovation and sustainability reflected the industry’s evolving priorities.

Mr. Stephane Picard, Sales & Marketing Manager at Pierret Industries, said they were very pleased with the overall quality of visitors. Despite market challenges, the event exceeded expectations. The main goal of holding the show in Singapore was to attract participants from Southeast Asia and the Middle East, and the results were impressive.

Canlar Mekatronik Board Member Mr. Kaan Cakici also expressed satisfaction, saying they were delighted with the overwhelming response at the exhibition. The show days were filled with serious enquiries from ready buyers, and they concluded deals during the event. The quality of discussions gave them confidence to expand their presence and support in the region.

Highlighting the event’s importance for India, Mr. Rohit Kansal, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, led a 30-member government delegation. He stated that India’s large participation reflects its strategic vision to drive textile industry growth through innovation, manufacturing excellence, and sustainability. He also noted that the fair provides an excellent platform to exchange ideas, explore new technologies, and build business collaborations.

Speaking later at the ITMA Sustainability Forum, Mr. Kansal emphasized India’s ongoing green transformation in the textile sector.

The 2025 edition of ITMA ASIA + CITME showcased a comprehensive range of textile and garment manufacturing technologies across more than 70,000 square metres of exhibition space, featuring over 840 exhibitors from 30 countries and regions.

The exhibition was organised by ITMA Services and co-organised by Beijing Textile Machinery International Exhibition Company.

The next ITMA ASIA + CITME will be held in Shanghai, China, from 20 to 24 November 2026. For more information, visit www.itmaasia.com or www.citme.com.cn.
