Textile Focus: Could you please share with us the journey of Apparel Today Ltd?
Tanzir Hassan: Keeping the vision in mind to be the most regarded apparel manufacturing & exporting company in Bangladesh, SM SOURCING, after starting their journey in 2013 as a sourcing company, and now with its own four manufacturing units, the overall financial revenue of the company is now $90 million (in 2024). SM SOURCING has its own vertical set-up starting from fabric production (knitting & dyeing) along with producing trims/accessories items. Apart from these, we are offering the other embellishment facility like different kinds of printing & embroidery facility to our customers.
In May’2024, SM SOURCING, came up with their new member of the family, Apparel Today Limited (ATL). Over the span of one year, Apparel Today Limited (ATL) has contributed a remarkable performance of $30 million on trading of garment. Apparel Today Limited (ATL) is a state-of-the-art production facility having all the latest machineries, ensuring the same level of quality and efficiency SM Sourcing is renowned for. This factory is basically specialized in undergarments product.
Briefly we can say that, to meet with the increasing demand of the undergarment from various world’s renowned customers/brands, Apparel Today Limited (ATL) is creating the supply chain for the future through its integrated business setup to provide end to end solutions to our valued customers.

To ensure the sustainability of the business, SM SOURCING along with it’s concern Apparel Today Limited (ATL) always strive for newness & innovation. We are investing a huge time & finance in R&D for different types of fabrics & garment designing/styling through our own designing team which are dominating the trends of the current apparel business of the world. Our teams are always travelling and attending different types of fair in the world in order to collect the trends and with our own facility we are trying to develop the items locally. Already this factory is enlisted in RSC with the score of 95% completion rate which will eventually become 100% by next 2 months. Additionally, this factory has all the major compliance certification like BCI, CTPAT, SEDEX, GOTS, BSCI, OEKO-TEX, ICS, GRS & RCS.
Keeping the sustainability of the business and environment in mind as well as the responsibility to the society, country and the upcoming generation, Apparel Today Limited (ATL) has gone green by signing up for LEED Platinum Certificated (USGBC) factory in December’2024. The major focus of this project will be in Energy Savings, Renewable Energy, On-site Green Restoration, Potable Water Savings, Rain Water Harvesting, Usage of Day Light with Fresh Air Circulation System inside the factory.
Textile Focus: What are the key product strengths of Apparel Today?
Tanzir Hassan: Apparel Today Limited (ATL) is mostly focused on Undergarments (Boxer, Brief, Panty, Bra, Tank Top, Spagetti etc.) for all age groups. Along with these products, it is also producing light knitted basic products like T-Shirts, Body suits and all kinds of knitted products for kid’s wear. Currently we are offering 3 million PCs capacity per month with exiting 30 lines. All the lines are well-occupied with all the latest machineries.
Textile Focus: Future plan of Apparel Today to boost RMG Export?
Tanzir Hassan: The future plan for Apparel Today Limited (ATL) is to double up the monthly production capacity from 3 million PCs to 6 million PCs by 2027. At the same time, this factory will comply with all the demands and the requirements of the customers and industry needed in the future.
