SM Sourcing presents AUSTAA Elevation 2025 powered by DBL Group, a flagship alumnus gathering organized by the AUST Textile Alumni Association (AUSTAA), was successfully held at Shaldah Eco Resort, Gazipur. The event marked a powerful reunion of AUST textile graduates, celebrating their professional achievements, shared values, and expanding global influence within the textile and apparel industry.

The program featured inspiring reflections from prominent industry leaders and alumni representatives, including Shams Mahmud Shakti, CEO, SM Sourcing; Md. Shamsul Alam, Managing Director, AKH Group; and M A Rahim, Vice Chairman, DBL Group and Patron Adviser, AUSTAA., Ziaur Rahman Reginal Country Manager H&M ,Sayed Mohammed Tahmir, Managing Director, and Tasmeeah Jannat, Director, Pacific Knit Division, Monjur Morshed Al Azim, General Secretary, AUSTAA; Ruhul Rahad Khan, President, AUSTAA

Speakers highlighted the strength of AUSTAA’s 3,500-member alumni network—now actively contributing across production floors, brands, liaison offices, R&D hubs, chemicals and marketing divisions both in Bangladesh and internationally.
Speaking at the event, one of the fastest growing company SM sourcing’s CEO, Mirza Shams Mahmud Shakti, emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration among textile professionals. He noted that AUST alumni are playing a critical role in shaping the future of global sourcing by combining technical excellence with ethical practices. He highlighted the need for continuous skill development, innovation, and responsible leadership to meet evolving buyer expectations and ensure long-term industry sustainability.

M A Rahim, Vice Chairman of DBL Group, Vice President, BGMEA and Patron Adviser of AUSTAA, shared strategic insights on the future trajectory of Bangladesh’s textile and apparel sector. He stressed that textile engineers must take proactive leadership roles to drive global diversification, value addition, and sustainable growth. He also encouraged alumni to leverage the strength of the AUSTAA network to support one another, mentor young professionals, and collectively address emerging global challenges.
Ziaur Rahman, Regional Country manager of H&M highlighted the contribution of Textile engineering in RMG Sector and he hope Aust Textile Graduates will more contribute for next level growth in RMG sector.
In his address, Md. Shamsul Alam, Managing Director of AKH Group, highlighted the transformation of AUST graduates into industry leaders across production, merchandising, innovation, and management. He emphasized the responsibility of senior professionals to guide the next generation, foster innovation, and uphold compliance and sustainability standards to strengthen Bangladesh’s competitive position in the global market.

AUSTAA Elevation 2025 celebrated not only alumni success stories, but also a shared commitment to CSR initiatives, professional collaboration, innovation, and sustainability, reinforcing the vital role of textile engineers in shaping the future of Bangladesh’s textile industry.
Later on, alumnus communicating APP AUSTTAA both IOS and android version has launched. And Textile Trendz an official journal publication by AUSTTAA has launched in the event. Program has concluded with a cultural program at evening.
