nextiles_1-copyNextiles, a textiles manufacturing start-up with patented smart fabric technology, has been inducted into Material ConneXion – a material library full of innovations in fabric that is focused on trends, design and sustainability.

Nextiles’ smart thread technology captures biometric and biomechanics data streamed via Bluetooth in real-time, which allows users to track data directly through their clothing rather than dealing with a range of wearables that only capture niche data. Nextiles leverages the use of traditional sewing machines and commonly found threads, such as nylon or spandex, so its items are comfortable and machine washable. The start-up’s smart fabric can be applied to a number of industries, including professional sports and the wellness space.
