AMC Knit Composite Ltd., a sister concern of SP Group, has partnered with The Cotton Group to provide free grocery baskets to its 4,300 employees as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. This programme, titled “Happy New Year 2025, Basket Distribution by B&C,” aims to support workers amidst rising living costs.
The Cotton Group, the parent company of the Belgian customisable apparel brand B&C, collaborated with SP Group to deliver grocery baskets, filled with essential items such as rice, lentils, cooking oil, and wheat flour. Both organisations contributed to this initiative, demonstrating their shared commitment to enhancing the well-being of factory workers.
On the same day, The Cotton Group, in partnership with Roshod Fair Price Shop—a social enterprise committed to supporting and enhancing the well-being of industrial workers—launched a hygiene programmme for 1,500 female workers at AMC. Backed by Square Toiletries Ltd., the initiative raises awareness about menstrual hygiene and gifts each participant a pack of Senora sanitary napkins. By addressing essential hygiene needs, this effort underscores a shared dedication to worker well-being, gender equity, and empowering women, paving the way for a healthier, more inclusive workplace.
The distribution event was attended by Mr. Shubal Chandra Saha, Managing Director of SP Group, and Mr. Luc Pinxten, Chief Operations Officer of The Cotton Group. This marks the second time B&C has provided free essential groceries to AMC employees. In previous years, The Cotton Group has also partnered with other suppliers to provide discounted basic commodities through fair-price shops and similar grocery support programmes.
Mr. Saha emphasised the importance of employee welfare, stating: I strongly believe that our employees are the backbone of our success. This initiative is our way of showing gratitude and ensuring that our workers and their families feel supported, especially during challenging times. We are committed to their welfare and will continue to take steps that positively impact their lives.
Mr. Luc Pinxten echoed this sentiment, saying: at B&C, we firmly believe that business success is tied to the well-being of the people behind it. This initiative is about more than groceries, it’s about showing our appreciation and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those who contribute to our shared journey. Together, we can create a more supportive future for everyone.
This initiative highlights the shared mission of SP Group and The Cotton Group to improve the lives of factory workers by addressing the challenges posed by rising living costs. The grocery baskets are provided free of charge to all factory workers and staff, reflecting a collective effort to ensure a brighter start to the new year for all.
