Luxembourg-based climate finance platform SPONSOR and one of Bangladesh’s leading renewable energy companies, Omera Renewable Energy Limited, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly advance renewable energy, climate finance, and sustainable infrastructure development in Bangladesh.
The strategic partnership was formalized through a signing ceremony held on 8 July, marking the beginning of a new phase of collaboration between the two organizations.

Under the MoU, SPONSOR and Omera Renewable Energy will work together to facilitate international climate finance, develop renewable energy projects, prepare investment-ready projects, promote sustainable infrastructure, and accelerate green investment. The partnership will also focus on connecting local and international investors, supporting project development, providing technical cooperation, and fostering knowledge exchange.
The two organizations believe that this collaboration will help attract international climate finance to Bangladesh’s clean energy sector, create a pipeline of investment-ready projects, and encourage greater private sector investment. It is also expected to contribute significantly to the country’s energy transition and the achievement of its sustainable development goals.
