Successful Launch of CRISAT – CENTRO Digital Fashion Catwalk Competition (DFCC) 2026

The Centre for Research & Innovation in Science, Arts & Technology (CRISAT), in collaboration with CENTRO, successfully organized the official online launching event of the CRISAT – CENTRO Digital Fashion Catwalk Competition (DFCC) 2026 on Sunday, 19 April 2026, at 7:00 PM. The competition is designed to foster creativity, digital skills, and innovative thinking among fashion and textile students in Bangladesh. The launch event was both inspiring and insightful, offering valuable direction to aspiring participants.

Eligibility

The competition is open to:

  • Undergraduate students (BSc/BA) in fashion, textiles, or a related field
  • Individuals who have completed such a course within the last six (6) months prior to registration

Distinguished Speakers

The event featured a lineup of esteemed guests who shared their expert insights:

•  Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan

(Vice Chancellor (Designate), BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology)

He highlighted the future potential of digital fashion and emphasized the importance of showcasing students’ talents on global platforms.

•  Engr. Ehsanul Karim Kaiser

(Convenor, Interim Committee – ITET Bangladesh) was present in the program

•  Md. Jaidur Rahman

(AGM – Business Process Development, Centro Tex Ltd.)

He emphasized the importance of strengthening industry-academia collaboration and developing practical, industry-relevant skills.

Program Highlights

The session commenced with a welcome address and background presentation by Dr. Abu Sadat Mohammad Sayem, Founder of CRISAT, who outlined the vision, objectives, and academic significance of DFCC 2026. He also highlighted its strong linkage with the 7th Textile Research Conference (TRC 2026), emphasizing that the DFCC 2026 Final Program will be held as part of TRC 2026 on Saturday, 31 October 2026, in Dhaka, Bangladesh, in collaboration with BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT).

Competition judges also shared their perspectives, including:

  • Prof. Md. Mahbubor Rahman (BUTEX)
  • Asst. Prof. Urmila Mukhtar Jeny (BUFT)
  • Asst. Prof. SM Sudrul Amin (SMUCT)
  • Asst. Prof. Md. Mazharul Islam (Northern University)
  • Md. Redwanul Islam (Lecturer, NITER)
