Noakhali, July 27, 2023 – The Textile Engineering College, Noakhali (TECN), embraced its 15th batch of engineering students with a splendid freshers reception held on July 27, 2023.

The event, organized by the 12th Batch (BarongBar) in collaboration with the Textile Engineers Club (TEC) and Textile Engineering College Alumni Association (TECNAA), was sponsored by Social Islami Bank (SIBL) Chowmuhuni. The reception also proudly recognized Textile Focus as the official media partner and sponsor for the occasion, ensuring its grand success.
The auditorium was abuzz with excitement as the reception commenced with a serene Quran Recitation and Gita Chanting. The audience then relished a series of welcome speeches delivered by students, teachers, and esteemed guests. Among the notable dignitaries scheduled to be present was the chief guest, Md. Mamunur Rashid Kiron, Member of Parliament for Noakhali – 03.

However, due to an unexpected illness, Mr. Kiron was unable to attend the event. Nevertheless, all the messages were conveyed to him through the Mayor of Chowmuhoni Municipality, Mr. Md. Khaled Saifullah, who graciously attended the reception in his place.

The reception was presided over by Engr. Md. Saifur Rahman, Principal of Textile Engineering College, Noakhali.
In his absence, the chief guest, Md. Mamunur Rashid Kiron, MP, sent his best wishes to the new batch and expressed his regret for not being able to attend. He delivered an inspiring message, emphasizing the significance of quality education and the development of the college. He also extended his appreciation to the Class Representatives (CRs) of each department with a gesture of gratitude, presenting them with roses.

Abdullah Al Mamun Leon, the Assistant Police Commissioner of DMP; was absent due to duty engagement at the event. He sends his best wishes to the fresher batch.
The second part of the program captivated the audience with a lively cultural spectacle. The highlight of the evening was the enthralling band performance by the renowned group, ‘Odd Signatures,’ whose electrifying music enthused the attendees.
‘Nirban’ and ‘Riotous’ bands also left the audience in awe with their fabulous performances, and the local community’s excitement was palpable, leading many to join in the festivities.
Students actively participated in various dance, song, and drama performances, adding a touch of vibrancy to the cultural program. Seniors from previous batches also joined in the celebrations, fostering a sense of camaraderie among the students.
At the conclusion of the event, seniors and teachers extended warm embraces to the freshers, making them feel welcome and at home in their new academic environment. Freshers, being newcomers to the campus, were eager to learn and adapt to the college’s culture, looking forward to an enriching journey ahead.
