Officina39 is a leading Italian textile chemical company specializing in innovative and sustainable solutions for garment dyeing, washing, and finishing, with a particular focus on denim and fashion textiles. Combining over three decades of expertise in textile chemistry with Italian craftsmanship, the company develops advanced chemical auxiliaries, dyestuffs, pigments, and finishing technologies that deliver unique aesthetic effects while minimizing environmental impact. Notable innovations include Recycrom™, a patented color range made from recycled textile waste, and the Aqualess Mission, which reduces water consumption in denim finishing by up to 75% compared to traditional methods. Officina39 also offers eco-friendly alternatives to hazardous chemicals, such as permanganate-free finishing systems, ensuring safer and more sustainable production. As a bluesign® system partner, the company maintains strict standards for chemical safety, resource efficiency, and supply chain transparency. With a global presence, including support for South Asian textile hubs, Officina39 empowers brands and mills to achieve high-quality finishes while advancing circularity and sustainability across the textile industry. Recently, Team Textile Focus had an insightful discussion with Engr. Md. Nasir Ullah, Country Director, Officina39, who shared valuable perspectives on textile chemical sector under pressure in 2026 and how Officina39 is collaborating industries for value growth. A brief discussion is given below for our respected readers-

Engr. Md. Nasir Ullah says, “Looking at the overall business situation in 2025, we ended the year at approximately 20% negative performance against our annual target. Given the current market dynamics, this gap was not recoverable within the year. Our primary focus, therefore, is on defining a clear and realistic strategy to regain momentum in 2026. This trend reflects the broader market reality. Globally, apparel consumption has softened, and combined with certain operational challenges, the industry is experiencing a generally subdued business environment. Despite these headwinds, we remain cautiously optimistic about a gradual recovery in this year.
To support this regaining, we are strengthening our collaboration with customers and sharpening our focus on sustainable and value-driven solutions. Sustainability remains a core pillar of our product portfolio, but equally important is ensuring that these solutions do not create additional cost pressure for manufacturers. A key part of our strategy is to minimize or eliminate the cost impact of sustainable processes. Where possible, we aim to achieve cost neutrality or even deliver cost savings through optimized chemical recipes and process efficiencies. These initiatives are already being actively promoted across our customer base.
One notable example is AQUALESS ALL-IN-ONE, a solution that is already being successfully adopted by key customers. Rather than being a promotional concept, it is a proven process that integrates the functions of stone, enzyme, and anti-back staining into a single product. By replacing three conventional products with one, factories can achieve tangible cost advantages compared to traditional stone enzyme washing processes.”
He further added, “Another important development is our work on replacing conventional acid wash processes. Traditional acid wash has significant limitations, particularly in terms of low machine loading capacity and the risk of garment spotting, which often leads to rejection. Our solution, NOVATEX MOON, is a ready-to-use powder that allows up to three times higher loading while entirely eliminating spot issues. This innovation has already gained strong acceptance among customers, who report improved efficiency and consistency. The most significant innovation we recently introduced, launched in Kingpins, Amsterdam, is ZERO PP ALL-IN. This advanced technology combines specialized chemical formulations with laser and dry ozone processes. The ZERO PP ALL-IN chemical is applied to raw garments through spraying, followed by laser and ozone treatment, and completed with a single-dip wash.
In conventional workflows, garments typically undergo two wash and two drying cycles. With ZERO PP ALL-IN, the entire process is completed in one wash, resulting in substantial savings in time, energy, and dryer usage. While PP alternatives are often associated with higher costs, this solution delivers net cost savings, making it both a sustainable and commercially viable option. Alongside product innovation, Officina39 continues to support the market with a strong and experienced technical team. We are actively working to further strengthen this support structure in this year to ensure customers receive maximum value from our technologies. Though 2025 ended as a challenging year, our strategic focus on innovation, sustainability, and cost efficiency positions us well for recovery and growth in this year”
