The main session of “Textile Education Fest 2026” was successfully held at Port City International University (PCIU) in Chattogram, bringing together students from the Textile Engineering Department in a vibrant gathering.
According to the university’s media representatives, the event witnessed the highest-ever student participation in the history of the university’s club activities. The program was organized by the Textile Club of PCIU (2026 Executive Committee).
The event was attended by Professor Dr. Mofazzal Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology; Mr. Yusuf Khan, Chairman of the Department of Textile Engineering; and other distinguished faculty members of the department.
As part of the main program, SGS Bangladesh, a renowned third-party testing, inspection, and certification organization, conducted a special session. The session was led by senior officials from SGS Bangladesh, providing students with valuable insights into the textile industry and helping them connect their academic knowledge with real-world industrial practices.
A dedicated session on Industrial Engineering was also organized, conducted by Mr. Rakib Hossain, an alumnus of the university and Deputy Manager of the Industrial Engineering Department at Shin Shin Group.
The event also featured a quiz competition, a sustainable fashion clothing exhibition, and a sustainability-focused poster presentation, in which a total of 11 teams participated.
To provide students with practical exposure, a fabric exhibition was organised, showcasing approximately 500 varieties of fabrics and ready-made garments. The exhibition offered students an opportunity to explore different textile materials and garment products firsthand.
According to the President and General Secretary of the organizing committee, such student-focused initiatives will continue in the future. They expressed hope that programs like this would help Textile Engineering students develop their hidden talents, enhance their practical knowledge, and gain a competitive edge in the job market.
They also expressed their sincere gratitude to everyone involved in the successful organization of the event, particularly the faculty members, SGS Bangladesh, and Online Textile School.
The distinguished guests present at the event highly appreciated the initiative and expressed their expectation that similar educational and industry-oriented programs would continue in the future.
