Global textile exhibition highlights Bangladesh’s industry potential
The 25th Dhaka International Yarn & Fabric Show (DIFS) 2026 – Winter Edition, held alongside the 8th Dhaka International Denim Show 2026, concluded successfully at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), Dhaka, after four days of dynamic global participation.
Jointly organized by CEMS-Global USA and CCPIT-TEX (Sub-Council of Textile Industry, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade), the exhibition took place from 28 to 31 January 2026, marking a milestone as Bangladesh’s longest-running B2B yarn and fabric sourcing platform celebrated its 25th anniversary edition.
The exhibition was officially inaugurated on 28 January 2026 at Rajdarshan Hall-3, ICCB. The Opening Ceremony was hosted by Ms. Meherun N. Islam, President & Group Managing Director, CEMS-Global USA & Asia-Pacific, and Mr. Chen Bo, Deputy Secretary General & Director, CCPIT-TEX (Sub-Council of Textile Industry, China).
The event was graced by distinguished guests and industry leaders, including Mr. Song Yang, Commercial Consulate, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Bangladesh; Mr. Arifur Rahman Khan, Additional Secretary & Director General (In-Charge), Dept. of Textile, Ministry of Textile & Jute; Mr. Md. Firoz Uddin, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Industries; and Mr. Nafis-Ud-Doula, Director, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BGMEA).
The twin shows featured over 650 booths, with participation from nearly 325 companies representing more than 15 countries, showcasing innovations in yarn, fabric, denim, textile technology and sustainable sourcing solutions.
Two thematic seminars were also organized during the exhibition. On the opening day, a seminar titled ‘Why Invest in Bangladesh’, in collaboration with the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), highlighted the country’s economic potential and investor-friendly policy framework. On the second day, a seminar on ‘Importance of MICE Tourism in Bangladesh’, organized with the Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB), focused on the prospects and economic impact of MICE tourism. Organizers stated that the successful conclusion of DIFS 2026 has further strengthened Bangladesh’s position as a global textile and apparel sourcing hub while enhancing its appeal as a destination for investment and event-driven business tourism.
