The 6th Textile Research Conference (TRC 2025) was successfully held on November 1, 2025, at Southeast University, Tejgaon, Dhaka. Organized by the Centre for Research, Innovation and Sustainable Apparel Technology (CRISAT) in collaboration with Southeast University, and sponsored by Microfiber Group of Industries and MASCO Group, this year’s conference revolved around the theme “Innovation in Textile and Fashion.” The event brought together leading academics, researchers, and industry professionals to discuss the latest advancements shaping the future of the textile and fashion sectors.

The conference was honored by the presence of several distinguished guests, including Prof. Dr. Md. Zulhash Uddin, Vice Chancellor of Bangladesh University of Textiles, who attended as the Chief Guest; Prof. Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, PhD, Vice Chancellor of Southeast University, who chaired the event; Prof. Dr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Acting Vice Chancellor of BUFT; Engr. Ehsanul Karim Kaiser, Convenor of the Interim Committee of ITET; Dr. Md. Fazley Elahi, Head of R&D at DBL Group; and Dr. Yuyuan Shi from Northumbria University, who joined virtually as a keynote speaker.

Throughout the day, participants enjoyed insightful keynote presentations, thought-provoking discussions, and innovative showcases highlighting the intersection of research, technology, and sustainability in textiles. A major highlight of TRC 2025 was the CRISAT–ASUTEX Research Competition 2025, which provided a platform for talented textile and fashion students to present their groundbreaking research. Another landmark moment was the first-ever Digital Fashion Catwalk in Bangladesh, presented by the CRISAT Digital Fashion Research Group, demonstrating the exciting possibilities of digital design and garment visualization technologies.
The organizing committee extended heartfelt thanks to all the guests, speakers, sponsors, participants, and volunteers whose contributions ensured the success of TRC 2025. The event reaffirmed CRISAT’s commitment to fostering collaboration between academia and industry and promoting sustainable innovation in the textile and apparel sector.
